In the Kitchen captures my grandmother in the middle of creating one of her amazing meals. I discovered this image from a bag of old photos and poloroids my mother had found. I unrolled a 60" wide paper and started to draw. The charcoal and the texture of the wall, gave the image a nice energy and life. While the photo was small this sketch ended up almost lifesize.
